Fall 2011’s trends won’t veer too far from spring’s fashions, which paid homage to the 1970’s era through bold colors, geometric prints and wide-leg flares.
The big picture theme for fall 2011 is Practical Luxury. While staying mindful to the current economy, practicality of garments will weigh heavily on consumers’ shopping decisions.
Silhouettes are dressed up with prints, textures and embellishments—from lace, luxe furs, feathers, fringe, to preppy polka dots and plaid prints. Expect floor sweeping hems, from long and lean duster jackets to menswear inspired wide-leg trousers.

· BLACK LEATHER: Yet another season of leather dominance for the high-fashion staple! Louis Vuitton and Acne incorporated the material in everything from overalls to suits.
· SHEER SHOULDERS: Coquettish tops and dresses featuring netting at the shoulders will be a chief obsession
· A CHIC PONCHO: A plethora of high-end new styles for capes and ponchos were born this season. DKNY, Rag & Bone, and Edun created capes and ponchos for the true fashionista.
