A hue that "emanates heat and energy," Tangerine Tango was picked yesterday by the Pantone Color Institute as the top color for 2012. The reddish-orange shade is already a super-popular accent color, favored by designers, and such an optimistic, juicy shade that feels both girly and tomboyish at the same time. Pair it with super-saturated colors (hot pink and Yves Klein blue!) for a color-blocked look, or layer it under neutrals for an understated but impactful pop. It's not just a fashion thing, though — Sephora's already hopped on the tangerine train with an exclusive Pantone color collaboration to debut in March (imagine the hue on your lips or nails — cool, right?). Girls Night Martini Glasses

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, my best friend Bonnie hosted a girls night, Blasts from the Past, complete with our senior year slideshow looped in the background, countless photo albums, karaoke, and yes, a midnight scavenger hunt!

My contribution to the party were pink bedazzled martini glasses, embellished specifically to match each girls personality! Then I made little drink stirrers with each girl's high school boyfriend!

New Season, New Trends, New MUST HAVES!

Can't believe its September already! To kick of the month, below is my take on FALL 2011's new trends and the pieces I'll definitely be checking out:

Fall 2011’s trends won’t veer too far from spring’s fashions, which paid homage to the 1970’s era through bold colors, geometric prints and wide-leg flares.

The big picture theme for fall 2011 is Practical Luxury. While staying mindful to the current economy, practicality of garments will weigh heavily on consumers’ shopping decisions.

Silhouettes are dressed up with prints, textures and embellishments—from lace, luxe furs, feathers, fringe, to preppy polka dots and plaid prints. Expect floor sweeping hems, from long and lean duster jackets to menswear inspired wide-leg trousers.

FALL 2011 TREND MUST HAVES:

· RED HOT: Lipstick Red, Crimson, Scarlet, Cardinal, Vermilion: Red is the it-color for Fall

· BRIGHT COLORED PANTS: all lengths are popular; color-blocking from Spring carries over into Fall

· BLACK LEATHER: Yet another season of leather dominance for the high-fashion staple! Louis Vuitton and Acne incorporated the material in everything from overalls to suits.

· SHEER SHOULDERS: Coquettish tops and dresses featuring netting at the shoulders will be a chief obsession

· A CHIC PONCHO: A plethora of high-end new styles for capes and ponchos were born this season. DKNY, Rag & Bone, and Edun created capes and ponchos for the true fashionista.

Fabulous Cleaning Gloves

Tomorrow, I'm flying to NYC to visit my little sister who just moved into a new apartment. I told her I'd put my OCD to use and help her get organized. I figured we'd be doing some cleaning, so why not make the chore a little less daunting by wearing some fabulous cleaning gloves? Yesterday, I made a few pairs....the big, over-the-top feather pair are for me....I made a green and purple pair for Maddie and her roommate to keep!
